Lincoln’s weather is set to improve, as Met Office forecasts leading into the weekend predict temperatures will rise to 3ºC on Friday, January 15th.

Snow, ice, and bitterly-cold winds swept across the country for several days, forcing schools to close and people unable to reach work.

Britain’s infrastructure couldn’t cope with the arctic conditions. Roads became treacherous and the rail network ground to a halt. Many people were being told not to travel if they didn’t need to, to prevent accidents.

The Met Office’s severe weather warnings have been lifted, while thousands of students are returning to Lincoln for the start of the semester. They shouldn’t experience traveling problems as Britain’s weather gradually improves.
