There’s still a few weeks to go until polling day, but the deadline for registering to vote is almost here as application forms have to be in by April 20th.

It’s estimated that up to one in five students are not registered to vote and the Electoral Commission has been campaigning to raise awareness through adverts on TV and a partnership with Facebook.

The University of Lincoln Students’ Union has also been pushing for people to register via Facebook and around campus.

Stephanie Bird reported on the final day of registration and how people are responding to the election for LSJ News.

It’s now too late to send your application by post, but it’s still possible to fill it out and take it to City of Lincoln Council by 5pm on Tuesday, 20th April.

You can find out more information about how to register at the Electoral Commision’s website, About My Vote.
