Two incidents occurred at the Engine Shed in the early hours of Sunday morning, October 10th, during a DJ set from London band The Noisettes.

One man was arrested by police for a “drug-related incident” according to a member of the security staff, at around 11:45pm, and an assault took place around 1:50am, with police and an ambulance arriving at the scene.

Senior security staff at the Engine Shed told The Linc that no information would be provided, and that the university press office would not be informed, despite the Engine Shed being under the university’s control.

The Engine Shed has previously come under fire for security incidents, including the death of William Pleasants on October 7th, 2008 after an assault three days earlier. All six security staff working on the night were arrested on suspicion of assault, but later released without charge.
