Deadlines extended as uni closes until Monday

The University of Lincoln’s Brayford Campus will be closed until Monday following the severe weather conditions, and has issued an extension to all work due to be submitted from Tuesday, November 30th.

The Lincoln and Hull campuses will be closed until Monday, December 6th.

Students at Riseholme have been asked to leave the campus by 12pm Friday, December 3rd, with the university saying they will help students to vacate. Riseholme is expected to reopen on Monday.

The Holbeach campus is planned to remain open, but the situation may change in the morning.

The university initially closed on Wednesday, December 1st, due to the snow and conditions on the road. It reopened on Thursday before closing midday.

The weather first affected university services earlier this week when evening classes were cancelled at Hull on Monday, followed by teaching at Riseholme on Tuesday.

The University of Lincoln’s GCW Library closed early on Tuesday evening due to poor weather. It was due to be open overnight as part of the “24/5” season, which will continue to December 17th.

Transport in Lincoln was severely affected last night with the city centre becoming gridlocked in the afternoon rush hour, with police recommending people only to travel if absolutely necessary.

You can find the latest campus closure information on the University of Lincoln website.
