Y Not festival is a relatively new festival, held in the Peak District. It runs from August the 5th to the 7th and is in its 6th year. It sports three stages offering a variety of different genres to fit everyone’s taste and are keen to promote small bands.

This year’s festival is so far headlined by indie rockers Maximo Park and Brighton group The Go! Team. They are joined by Dinosaur Pile Up, The Milk and Admiral Fallow among others.

The festival has sadly had a troubled history as, in 2008 as the festival was expanding, they managed to attract some bigger names. However, two of the biggest acts booked, Cage the Elephant and the Mystery Jets failed to turn up. This hasn’t really affected the festival though, as last year saw an amazing line-up who satisfied the crowds.

The festival has already welcomed the likes of Frank Turner, The Futureheads
and The Subways. Small, fresh and loud, Y Not has a great reputation as one of the best small and affordable festivals in the UK at the moment.

Tickets for this year’s event are priced at £65 for a weekend ticket, or you can go for a joint ticket with 2000 Trees festival for £100.
