The University of Lincoln’s annual Sports Fayre will take place during Fresher’s Week.

The Fayre, which will run on Wednesday September 17 at the Engine Shed from 10am-4pm, will showcase all the sports teams and societies at the University.

It will give students new and old a chance to sign up to join the societies which range from football to climbing, from dodgeball to golf.

The Student’s Union Vice President for Activities, Hayley Wilkinson says there are plenty of benefits to joining a sports club.

“Joining a sports club is not only beneficial for your fitness and health but it can also enhance your experience as a student through playing either a competitive or social sport.

“From Badminton to Snow sports, there’s something for everyone! You will meet new people and it’s a great way to spend your free time.”

Third year student Kelvin Morgan is part of the Men’s Hockey Team.

“Societies are a great way to meet people, something you’ll want to do especially as a fresher. The seniors can help you settle in and become your friends as well as team mates.”

If you miss the Sports Fayre, you can still join a sports team and a full list of the teams and how you can get in contact with them is available on the Lincoln Student Union’s website.
