Rise in neglected horses in Lincolnshire expected over winter

A rise in the number of horses being abandoned or abused is expected over the winter months in Lincolnshire.

But there are fears for horses who are being neglected with horse charities resources being very overstretched.

Local horse charity, Bransby Horse Rescue and Welfare, currently have 350 horses on their site near Saxilby and 300 in loan homes.

However, at a push, Ryan Rouse the external welfare manager for the sanctuary said they could potentially accept 50 more horses.
