Nottingham Forest midfielder Josh Rees is one of three players who have been given the opportunity to impress the Lincoln City coaching staff this week.

The 22-year-old, along with Bristol City’s Billy Murphy, 20, and free agent Joe Cuff, have been training with the Imps as Chris Moyses looks to freshen up his playing personnel.

Rees, a former Arsenal youngster, previously had loan spells at Brentford and, most recently, at Nuneaton Town where he netted twice in ten appearances last year.

Moyses revealed in his weekly press conference at Sincil Bank that all trialists have fared well during the course of the week.

He said: “They’ve trained this week and have all impressed. So there may be some good news next week. They have a week to impress and we also monitor them in the under 21s match that we play after that.

“We also need to see what type of people they are as well. All the way through the recruitment process, it’s about what the lads are like as people.”

Moyses is on the lookout for new recruits as he looks to reinvent his team’s promotion charge.

City have gone ten matches without a victory since defeating Torquay United 3-1 away from home on the 21st November.

However, the valiant Imps boss remains confident his group can turn around their mid-season slump and shoot back up the National League table.

“We are playing quite well and its small margins that are costing us at the moment.

“Everyone was excited; I know I was when we were fourth in the league and we’ve got to get ourselves back in that fold.

“I don’t think we were a victim of our own success. We’re a good squad and a good group of people and we’re doing the best we can.”
