The results of the elections for the five Student Leader roles were announced in Tower Bar last night, alongside the winners of the Volunteer Officer roles and the NUS delegate positions.

Speaking to The Linc shortly after the result was announced, Kudzai said: “It is the probably the best thing that could possibly happen to me in my university career.

“I think the way in which we can move forward as a Students’ Union starts with how we can engage with the student body.

“The fact we’ve has such a massive turnout – a record-breaking turnout – [and] we’ve had loads and loads of students engaged, I think that is sort of an omen of things to come so I’m very, very happy.”

He leads a group of four Vice Presidents, including Connor Delany (VP Welfare and Community), Luke Exton (VP Activities), Tommy George (VP Academic Affairs) and Jiachen Liu (VP International).

This year also saw the highest voter turnout ever for the SU, with 32% of the total student population voting in the election.
