Universities could be fined or suspended for failing to protect free speech

The Government’s Universities Minister, Jo Johnson MP, has called for institutions to protect free speech on campus, and said that any that fail to protect it could be fined, suspended or de-registered by a new regulator.

New freedom of speech motion passes at SU student meeting

A new motion on free speech which called for ‘a difference of views towards Union or University policy and actions’ to not ‘bring the Union into disrepute’ has been passed by students at an All Student Members meeting (ASM) last night.

Online petition launched in response to Archery Society losing access to university venue

A petition entitled ‘Give Archery their home’ has been launched on the Students’ Union’s website, after the University of Lincoln’s Archery Society were told that they could no longer use the facilities at Riseholme College.

Archery Society left in ‘very difficult situation’ after losing access to university venue

The University of Lincoln’s Archery Society has been left without a place to practice at, after they were informed that they could no longer use their previous venue on the university’s Riseholme Campus.
