Lincoln City fans and Grimsby Town fans will battle at Sincil Bank on Wednesday, May 5 in the second leg of the charity fundraiser.

The first charity football match was played before the first teams’ match in March when the Imps came out 3-2 victors at the Stamford club in Grimsby.

This time around Lincoln City fans will be hosting their Grimsby counterparts at Sincil Bank vying for the Soccer Xpress trophy.

The Lincoln City fans side will feature yours truly hoping to impress Fabio Capello at right back!

The match is the latest charity event to take place between the two sets of fans.

A sponsored bike ride from the home of Grimsby Town, Blundell Park to Sincil Bank raised over £7,000. A return bike ride was scrapped after the kick off time was then changed to noon. Although it was later moved back to 3pm there wasn’t sufficient time for the bike ride to take place so a football match between the two sets of fans was organised.

The money raised will be split four equal ways between Grimsby and Lincoln children’s hospitals, GTST (Grimsby Town Supporters Trust) and LCST (Lincoln City Supporters Trust).

People are urged to come to Sincil Bank and support both the players and charities involved in the event. The charity match takes place at Sincil Bank: kick off 7.30pm. Admission prices are £2 for adults and £1 for children with all proceeds split between the charities mentioned. Admission is accessed through the Fox Executive lounge with the Lincolnshire Echo stand open for spectators.
