Jamie Clarke is the second player to sign for the Imps, following the acquisition of midfielder Richard Butcher last week.

Clarke started his career with Blackburn Rovers and finished top scorer of their youth team in the 2005/06 season.

The pacey striker will be familiar with Sincil Bank having played for Accrington Stanley last season. Whilst at Stanley he scored a hat-trick against local rivals Grimsby Town, which will please the Lincoln fans.

Imps boss Peter Jackson was delighted with his new signing, he told the club’s official website:

“He’s got an electric turn of pace and I’m delighted to have snapped him up. He’s keen, entusiastic and looking forward to his time here at Lincoln City.

“Having been released twice over the last year or so he’s coming here with a point to prove. Hopefully I can bring the best out of him and he’ll develop into a key player over the course of next season.

“I’m in talks with another couple of forwards so hopefully there will be some more movement before the end of the week.”

Clarke finished the season a Rotherham where he scored on his debut against Gillingham. He was one of nine players released by Rotherham boss Mark Robins at the end of last season.
