Two of The Linc’s predictions on who will stand in this year’s University of Lincoln Students’ Union elections have been confirmed. Chris Charnley, the SU’s current president, announced on Monday that he will seek re-election as the organisation’s president.
Announcing his intention to run again, Charnley claimed to have gained a lot for students, but his claims are dubious.
In addition, Dan Derricott, currently a part-time officer, announced in December his intention to stand for the role of vice-president for education. JP Thackery, a second year media production student, will stand for a position, although nothing else is known about his candidacy.
Election packs for would-be candidates are yet to be uploaded to the SU’s website’s election page, which can be found here.
Just to clarfiy my statement:
“I would like to confirm speculation and announce that I shall be re-running for my position as SU President in the up coming SU elections 10/11. After an amazing year, with great out comes for students at the University, I wish to continue the fight and protect the student body of Lincoln against the hard times ahead – The best student experience for all our students. I look forward to speaking with you all soon!”
I’ll be making an announcement on the position I’ll be running for on the 1st February.
