The Theatre Royal is a small venue with a huge variety of performances. Regular comedy clubs tend to be a hit with the student population while dark dramas are great for those with a passion for theatre. Here are our highlights for the upcoming season.
Monday 27th September 7.30pm
One Man Lord of the Rings
Charles Ross, the creator of One Man Star Wars Trilogy, is bringing his new show to Lincoln. The title does give away the plot somewhat — one man armed with nothing more than elbow pads will perform Lord of the Rings in just one hour. Will he pull it off? There’s only one way to find out.
Tickets between £12-£16
Wednesday September 29th 7.30pm
Busting Out
On its first tour around the UK, Busting Out is the sell-out show to get women cheering and leave men gasping. Emma Powell and Bev Killick use a fantastic mix of music, stand up, cabaret, and theatre to leave you with jaw ache and the biggest smile.
Tickets between £16.50-£18.50
Saturday October 23rd 7.30pm
Joe Pasquale
The King of the Jungle is taking centre stage for his latest stand up show. Although his squeaky voice may not be to everybody’s taste, he certainly knows how to put on a show and make the audience laugh.
Tickets £18.50
Friday November 19th
The Vagina Monologues
A classic piece of contemporary theatre, The Vagina Monologues is an episodic play written by Eve Ensler. The hilarious and sometimes moving subject was a sell out last Autumn and a percentage of takings from ticket sales will go to V Day, which helps charities across the world.
Tickets between £16.50-£19.50
Thursday December 16th – Sunday January 16th
Aladdin
The traditional panto is back! This time with Cannon and Ball starring as the Chinese Policemen in a month long run of Aladdin. The traditional fairy tale is one of the most popular pantomimes on the circuit and Aladdin will certainly get the Christmas spirit flowing.
Tickets from £12.50. For a full list of prices (including concessions) and times please visit the website.
Remember that these are just a few highlights, be sure to see the full line up on the Theatre Royal website so you don’t miss out.
