Lincoln City climbed out of the League Two relegation zone after goals from Moses Swaibu and Millwall loanee Ashley Grimes completed a comeback away at Morecambe.

Former Grimsby forward Phil Jevons opened the scoring at the Globe Arena after just six minutes for Sammy McIlroy’s side.

However, the Imps reversed the deficit after half-time. Moses Swaibu hit the equaliser on 52 minutes and Grimes opened his account for Lincoln just five minutes later.

Clark Keltie’s suspension gave Scott Kerr the chance to return to the heart of midfield, partnering Milton Keynes Dons loanee Luke Howell, whilst fellow loan stars Josh Gowling, Gavin Hoyte, Ben Hutchinson and Grimes also took their places in the starting line-up.

The result means Steve Tilson has recorded the first win of his tenure at Sincil Bank and it lifts his side up to 21st in League Two, with fellow strugglers Hereford replacing them in the drop zone.

Next week, the Imps will host Hereford at Sincil Bank, giving them the chance to put back-to-back wins together for the first time this season and much-needed daylight between themselves and League Two’s relegation zone.
