Lincoln City travel to Burton Albion on Tuesday night looking to make it three games unbeaten – an achievement completed by the Imps just twice this season.
Having taken four points from sides above them – Oxford United and Accrington Stanley – the Imps now take on a team on the brink of the relegation zone and ten points below them. However, Albion have played four games less than City, leaving them with at least two games in hand over other clubs in League Two.
City and Albion played out an uninspiring 0-0 draw in September but goals could be on the cards in the return fixture with both sides looking to grab a much-needed three points for themselves.
Albion have conceded 14 goals in their last four games – something Steve Tilson’s side will be hoping to take advantage of having only scored more goals this season than Bradford, Aldershot and Burton themselves.
Despite having form on their side, City have not beaten Albion in their last three encounters. Last season Burton came out on top with a 2-0 win at Sincil Bank and 1-0 victory at the Pirelli Stadium.
Tilson is expected to name an unchanged starting line-up from the team that faced Accrington on Saturday but will be forced to make one change to the bench. Joe Anyon’s loan move to Morecombe on Monday could see veteran goalkeeper Paul Musselwhite come into the squad.
The home side will be without central defender Nathan Stanton who picked up a groin strain against Crewe last weekend. Stanton joins Calvin Zola and Scott Malone on the injury list, although Malone has not yet been ruled out of a place in the Albion squad.
Kick-off is 7:45pm at the Pirelli Stadium.
