The nominations are closed and it’s time to meet the people who are hoping to get your vote over the next week in the SU Elections 2011.

It was good to hear from the VP of activities candidates, or at least one of them, talk about a larger focus on societies. There have been some sports and societies events this academic year that were quite successful but, one in particular that springs to mind being the sports day, had no focus on societies. Societies were welcome to participate but if you are coming from a particularly “nerdy” society there isn’t really much to do. A good balance of sports and societies would definitely go down well in my opinion.
