Newly-appointed Lincoln Ladies manager Rick Passmoor said that his side are aiming for silverware this season.

Passmoor, who reached two cup finals and guided Leeds United Ladies to their highest league position, revealed that he was “very excited” about his new job.

Speaking to The Linc, he said: “I met the chairman and chief executive earlier in the month and laid out plans for the club. We have got a fantastic vision for the club and a good journey ahead.”

Passmoor added: “We’ve got to hit the ground running. We want Lincoln Ladies to be on the lips of everybody. We want to best one of the best within the league setup.”

The new gaffer will be taking training sessions over the weekend and praised the side for “standing on their own two feet” for the past two years.

He also spoke about transfers: “Where there is a need to recruit there will be discussions with Luke [Negus-Hill – the chief executive] and the chairman. At the moment we haven’t had a chance to discuss those. If there is an opportunity I’ve got full support of the chairman.”

Keith Boanas was originally the favourite to take over as the new manager, though would have found it difficult to leave his Estonia role.
