By the early hours of Friday morning it was clear that the Yes Scotland had suffered a string of defeats, some expected and some lost more narrowly.

A disillusioned yes voter in Edinburgh told The Linc they had hoped for better results. He said:

“We look werry likely to lose now. What will happen after a no vote? Nobody knows and that makes the current result tragic.”

 

Better Together refused to use the word landslide but said the early results made them more certain of victory.
