Lincoln City are hoping not to have to sell off their main assets including Sincil Bank

Lincoln City are offering free tickets to students of the University of Lincoln for next Tuesday night’s game against Altrincham.

The offer is part of an initiative to get more students to Sincil Bank to support the Imps.

It is the second offer of the season with over 500 students snapping up tickets for a match against Gateshead in September.

Lincoln City’s General Manager John Vickers believes the success of the Gateshead match was enough to encourage the club to put on the offer again.

“We tried it last year, we tried it again this year, and it worked.”

“There’s nothing worse than an empty seat. Hopefully they’ll get hooked, like what they see and come back.”

Since the Gateshead game, students have been visiting Sincil Bank and Vickers would like to give something back to them.

“There has been interest by students. Obviously there is still a cost involved in getting a ticket and we want to give something back and make it as affordable as possible for students to come along.”

The Imps currently find themselves in 14th place in the Conference table, five places ahead of Altrincham, and are unbeaten in five matches at Sincil Bank in all competitions.

To claim your free ticket for the match, head down the the SU reception, which is open 9:30am-5pm, Monday to Friday, with a valid student ID card.
