The race for VP Activities looks to be the closest vote of the SU elections, which come to an end in The Swan tonight.

Sammi Storey and Sophia Bishell came highest up the average rankings in our exclusive exit poll, with Will Fry, Jae Joseph-Jeffrey, and Charlie King not far behind (in that order).

One hundred people responded to the poll, which put Calum Watt in a tight first for President, with Nyasha Takawira top for Academic Affairs and Wade Baverstock in pole position for the Welfare & Community role.

Turnout for the SU elections was up 2% on last year, from 30% to 32%, but it’s not all good news for student engagement – in our exit poll, 50% of non-voters said they didn’t vote because they don’t care about the Students’ Union, with others saying there was a “lack of professionalism” from candidates.

Take a look at the full infographic, with data on all the candidates, below:

Of course, these results are merely a random sample of student opinion – they may end up having no say whatsoever on the actual results, due to be revealed in just a few hours.

The Swan will be packed for tonight’s results ceremony, which starts at 7pm, so if you can’t get in, then keep up to date with The Linc on our Twitter and live blog.
