Porritt joins Lincoln City on work experience

Lincoln signed off their final home game of the season with a 2-1 defeat to Eastleigh at Sincil Bank.

Before the game players and fans of both sides observed an impeccable minutes silence for the 56 supporters who lost their lives in the Bradford City fire in May 1985, two of whom were Lincoln fans.

The first half was a scrappy affair with neither side having any real dominance on the game. It was the visitors who struck first. Jack Midson poked the ball past Farman after some superb backheels.

Lincoln were lucky not to go down to ten men just before the break when Hamza Bencherrif kicked out at James Constable and the pair had to be separated.

After the break Lincoln equalised. Delano Sam-Yorke was brought down and the freekick from the right hand side caused confusion amongst the Eastleigh defence. Ben Tomlinson smuggled it home via a deflection.

However, they weren’t on level terms for long after Mcallister slotted home for Eastleigh to restore their lead.

From that point onwards Lincoln never looked like equalizing and their last home game of the season ended in defeat.
