Three men have been charged in connection to the death of University of Lincoln student, 19-year-old Ashley Hughes, who died on December 17 last year at Lincoln County Hospital.
A post mortem concluded that the student, from Gatley near Cheadle, had died as a result of a drug overdose, and was subsequently taken to hospital after having been taken ill in the early hours of that morning at student accommodation block Danesgate House.
An investigation by Lincolnshire Police led to three men being charged for drug offences relating to the incident.
Reis Bilal (19), of Ruston Way in Lincoln, has been charged with supply of a controlled class A drug (MDMA) on 16 December 2014; concerned in the supply of a controlled drugs of class A (MDMA) between 28 October and 17 December 2014; and concerned in the supply of a controlled drug of class B (cannabis) between 28 October and 17 December 2014.
Luke Green (19), of Grantham Street in Lincoln, is charged with possession of a controlled drug of class A (MDMA) on 16 December 2014; concerned in the supply of a controlled drug of class B (Cannabis) and a controlled drug of class A (MDMA), both between 18 October and 17 December 2014.
Haydon Watson (21), of High Street in Lincoln, has been charged with being concerned in the supply of a controlled drug of class B (Cannabis) between 10 December 2012 and 17 December 2014; and being concerned in the supply of a controlled drug of class A (MDMA) between 10 December 2012 and 17 December 2014.
The three men have been bailed and are set to appear at Lincoln Magistrates Court on May 6.
