The two football teams will play each other in a special fixture on February 10th at Lincoln City’s stadium Sincil Bank, with tickets now available from both university’s student unions priced at £3. The game will have a 7:45pm kick off.

The two sides have faced each other in the past, with Lincoln being the usual victors. While Lincoln may be expected to be favourites due to be 4th in the Midlands 3A division, Bishop Grosseteste will have form going into the match as they are currently unbeaten in the Midlands 5B division and sit pretty at the top of that league.

After the announcement, the University of Lincoln’s Men’s Football President Will Fry told The Linc: “It’s taken a lot of hard work between myself and Callum Ward from Bishop Grosseteste and Lincoln City and we are really proud to finally release the details. We are looking forward to a huge event that will hopefully become an annual event and pull the students and city closer together!

He then added: “It’s huge for the club to run what has the potential to be the biggest student event in the city.”
