Danny Cowley has been named as the new Lincoln City manager following Chris Moyses departure at the end of the season.
The former Braintree Town manager has signed a two year deal at Sincil Bank and will be joined by his brother Nicky Cowley as Assistant Manager.
The 37 year-old and his brother resigned from their positions at Braintree Town last night just five days after the Irons 2-1 aggregate defeat to Grimsby in the Vanarama National League play-offs.
In a Club statement, Braintree Chairman, Lee Harding said: “Yes, it’s a shame for us but, first of all, I would like to thank both Danny and Nicky for their efforts throughout their year at our club.
“What they have achieved with the players has been remarkable. But it seems the offer of a £500,000 playing budget and full time status has proved to be too good for them to turn down.”
Cowley, joined Braintree last summer and took them to their highest ever league position finishing third in the Vanarama National League, managing the Irons alongside his day job as a P.E teacher.
The Imps new manager is set to meet supporters at 7pm this evening at Sincil Bank.
