Lincolnshire musicians will gather at the University of Lincoln tomorrow, as part of a fundraising event for the Children’s Brain Tumour Research Centre in Nottingham.

The event is free to attend, but anyone wishing to make a donation can text CBTR48 to 70070 or donate online via. their official JustGiving page.

The New Moon Celebration, which sees over 50 singers from the county take part, have been organised by local artist Stephen Dargavel, who was diagnosed with a terminal brain tumour whilst studying for a MA in Fine Art.

“The reason I’m organising this is because I wanted to fundraise for this particular children’s centre of excellence for brain tumour research and care,” Stephen said in an interview last week.

The event has also been supported by Lincoln’s community radio station, Siren Radio.

Su Roys, Broadcast Assistant at the station and one of the organisers, said the event is about celebrating the Children’s Brain Tumour Research Centre and everything that it does.

“Although it’s based in Nottingham, Lincolnshire children and Lincolnshire young people will use that service because there isn’t any current facility here in Lincolnshire,” she said.

The New Moon Celebration takes place in the Minerva Building from 3:30pm tomorrow, with a champagne toast at 4:08pm.

The event is free to attend, but anyone wishing to make a donation can text CBTR48 to 70070 or donate online via. their official JustGiving page.
