The news follows an earlier announcement by the university that sessions which took place after 3pm today will be rescheduled after Lincoln was hit with heavy snowfall.

In a series of tweets on Twitter, the University of Lincoln said: “Due to the severe weather conditions currently affecting travel and public transport services across Lincolnshire, the University of Lincoln has taken the decision to suspend teaching at its Brayford and Riseholme campuses tomorrow.

“The University remains open to support students on campus with key services available, including the Library (from 9am), Student Services, catering outlets, Security and ICT Helpdesk.

“Conditions will be monitored over the next 24 hours and further information will be circulated here and via the University’s website,” they said.

The University of Lincoln has also cancelled their Offer Holder Day, which was due to take place on Saturday.

Elsewhere, the Students’ Union have announced that they are closed ‘until further notice’ following today’s snow, with tonight’s QUACK! club night being cancelled as a result.

The SU has since said that online ticket holders will receive a refund automatically, whilst those who bought tickets from SU Reception will have to come in to the Students’ Union once it has re-opened.
