Managerless Lincoln City travel to the west coast on Saturday, October 21st as they face the struggling Fleetwood Town at Highbury in SkyBet League One action.
Lincoln come into this game after an unfortunate defeat to Burton Albion, with a red card changing the game in the second half.
That loss saw Mark Kennedy leave the club on Wednesday night following a string of only two wins in the last ten games, in all competitions. Imps’ first-team Tom Shaw has taken interim charge of City.
Fleetwood last played a game at the start of the month when they lost to Wycombe 1-4 at Highbury.
The home side sit 21st in the league and in the relegation zone. As for the away side, they sit 16th in League One, five points off the play-offs.
Opposition: Fleetwood Town
Fleetwood Town are managed by Lee Johnson, who took charge in September this year. Johnson joined after being sacked by Scottish Premiership side Hibernian.
He noticeably took charge of Sunderland in their League One era, but that was ended after a sorry 6-0 defeat to Bolton Wanderers.
Team News:
Fan-favourite Lasse Sorensen played through the 90 minutes against Burton Albion, after a short-term injury sustained in the game that was abandoned against Leyton Orient.
The long-tern injury crisis remains for the Imps, with Tyler Walker, Ben House, and Lewis Montsma are all still ruled out.
As for Fleetwood Town, experienced striker Jack Marriott is expected to lead the line for the Cod Army. He is their current top goal scorer in League One and has a League One golden boot to his name, back in 2017-18.
Danny Mandroiu will be unavailable for the next three games, following the straight red card he received against Burton Albion on Saturday.
Ben Heneghan received two yellows against Wycombe, so is expected to face a one-match suspension.
Played for both:
Former Imp Danny Rowe, who played 23 times for City, scoring three goals, also played for the Cod Army back in a three-year spell in 2010-2013. He only made 7 appearances during that spell.
Head-to-Head:
Last season saw Lincoln fail to register a win against Fleetwood Town, conceding late on in a 2-2 draw at the start of the season, before falling to a 2-1 defeat at Highbury in March.
Previous to that, the Imps met their opponents for the first time in the 2011/12 season in non-league, conceding to a certain Jamie Vardy that season twice in a 2-2 draw. Since then, in the seven other times they have met, Lincoln have been victorious on two occasions, with three draws in that period too.
