Flooding has put parts of Lincoln city centre underwater as Storm Babet hits England.

A yellow weather warning for rain was put in place across Lincolnshire for Friday October 20 and Saturday October 21, and flood warnings have been issued.

The Environment Agency reports that Lincolnshire saw over one month of rain fall in 24 hours.

Lincolnshire Police, Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue, East Midlands Ambulance Service and the Lincolnshire Resilience Forum have been working to assist those in need.

Long Leys Road in Lincoln has been closed due to flooding, and Lincolnshire City Council has attended over 350 jobs for flood-related issues.

Lincolnshire Highways say they have had more emergency callouts than they have ever received in such a short time.

The Environment Agency Area Director for Lincolnshire and Northamptonshire, Leigh Edlin, encourages people to avoid rivers and not drive through floodwater.

Flooding can be reported on the FixMyStreet webpage, and people can sign up to receive flood warnings on the Gov.UK website.
