Lincoln City Match Preview

Lincoln City travel to Hertfordshire on Saturday (November 18) as they face Stevenage in SkyBet League One action at the Lamex Stadium.

Lincoln come into this game ninth in the third tier, after a dramatic 1-1 draw against Port Vale last weekend.

Saturday’s game will be the first under new head coach Michael Skubala, who was announced by the Imps at the start of the week.

Opposition: Stevenage FC

Stevenage have had a brilliant start to life in League One, currently sitting in fifth, the highest of any newly-promoted side.

Steve Evans’ side have not seen defeat in the league in over a month, with Boro last failing to register points from a game on October 14, when they lost 3-0 to Blackpool.

Boro have only lost one game at home too, suggesting that Michael Skubala won’t find it easy in his first game as Imps boss.

Team News:

Ben House and Lewis Montsma remain injured as Skubala takes charge. However, Tyler Walker has returned to training and could soon return to the line-up, after suffering a long-term hamstring injury.

Ethan Erhahon and Ethan Hamilton both currently sit on four yellow cards each, and so will need to be careful. One more card for either midfielder sees them handed a one match ban.

As for the hosts, nine changes were made in midweek as they beat Crystal Palace U21s in the Bristol Street Motors Trophy. We can expect to see lots of changes made from Tuesday’s game as Steve Evans looks to continue the impressive unbeaten run.

Played for Both:

Defender Michael Bostwick played 302 games during his stints for these two sides.

Bostwick had his first spell at Stevenage between 2008 and 2012, before joining Lincoln City in 2017, following their promotion back into the Football League. Bostwick stayed with The Imps for three years and won the Checkatrade Trophy (BSM Trophy) as well as the League Two title.

Bostwick returned to Stevenage in 2022, where he stayed for a while before joining Lincolnshire side Boston United.
