Lincoln City defender TJ Eyoma reviewed a “tough game” against Reading, as the Imps came away with a hard-fought point.
He said: “We started well first-half, and then [Reading] grew into the game. They were a good team and had a couple chances, so we rode are look at times.”
The former Tottenham Hotspur man said a sharing of the points was a fair reflection of the game, in which the visitors had two goals disallowed.
He said: “They’re a good team, it was a tough game. They moved the ball really well, they’ve got good wingers and good strikers, so I thought we dealt with it. I thought 1-1 was a fair result.”
Lincoln City scored early, through a Ted Bishop created Nelson Abbey own goal, but were forced to withstand a strong Reading performance for the rest of the afternoon.
Eyoma said: “Where they are in the league doesn’t reflect how good they are.”
The Royals sat second-bottom in SkyBet League One at the stay of play on Saturday, but played like a team much higher in the table.
“They had a lot of possession, so we had to stay disciplined and stay in our shape. So, I think a point was a fair result,” Eyoma said.
Michael Skubala was disappointed with his team’s performance, but Eyoma has been pleased with City’s current form.
He said: “As a team, we’re doing well. I’m doing well at the moment, and hopefully long may that continue. We just need to keep working hard in training and doing what the gaffer wants.”
The Imps travel to Derby County on Thursday night, before another tough test against Bolton Wanderers on Boxing Day.
