Lincoln United have announced a new management trio to fill the vacant position at Ashby Avenue.
In a club statement, The Whites’ said: “Lincoln United are delighted to announce the appointment of Paul Grimes, Scott Hellewell and Jon Taylor as the men’s first team management team for the 2024/25 season.”
The trio have had success at North Lincolnshire side Winterton Rangers, guiding them through two promotions during their time at the club.
In their six-year stint at Winterton, the trio took Rangers from step six to step four, which is where Lincoln aim to reach.
The Lincoln United statement added: “The trio were successful through a very strong and competitive recruitment process, with the club having received many impressive and highly credible applications for the management role.”
The new management team take over from former boss Chris Funnell, who resigned from his role after defeat in the play-off semi-finals to Skegness Town.
United finished second in their division, but lost out in the play-offs. They went one penalty kick away from a Wembley Stadium final in the Isuzu FA Vase, reached the semi-finals of the league cup and won the Lincolnshire FA County Senior Trophy for the first-time.

All three of the new management team have previous ties to the club.
Paul Grimes has enjoyed three playing spells at the Sun-hat Villas & Resorts Stadium, most recently being drafted in to support the playing squad at a busy period of the 2023/24 season. Notably, he starred in the FA Vase quarter-final victory over Deal Town.
Hellewell played at the club in his early years, while a number of Taylor’s relatives have appeared for the Whites over the years.
Lincoln United now turn their attention to preparations for the upcoming season, as they look to gain promotion into step four.
The recruitment of Grimes, Hellewell and Taylor confirms that assistant manager Matt Evans will be leaving the club after two years at The Whites.
