Lincoln United and Lincoln City have both announced open trails for their women’s teams ahead of the 2024/25 season.

The Whites posted on their Twitter/X account to announce their two open trails. They will take place over two different days, Wednesday, June 26 between 19:00 and 21:00, and Saturday, June 29 between 10:00 and 12:00.

It is available for any player aged 16 or above, held at the 3G pitch at Priory City of Lincoln Academy.

Lincoln United Women come into the 2024/25 season as treble winners: having successfully retained the East Midlands Women’s Regional Football League Cup, and the Lincolnshire FA County Cup, and winning their respective division without dropping a single point in the process.

With promotion, United have progressed into the FA Women’s National League, where they will face the likes of Peterborough United and local rivals Lincoln City.

Lincoln City Women also scheduled two trails for the summer, with just one remaining. That takes place on Wednesday, June 26 at Riseholme College, near to the Lincolnshire Showground. It is for both the women’s senior and under-23s teams.

Lee Mitchell’s side retained their place in the FA Women’s National League last season, finishing eighth. This summer, has seen changes behind the scenes, as the Imps’ women’s pathway now belongs to the same structure as the men’s academy and technical director Jon Pepper.

The hope of the change is that it will provide equal opportunities for both boys and girls in and around Lincoln.

Successful trialists at Lincoln United will join the squad, alongside recently appointed manager Ricky Pledger. There has been much change at Ashby Avenue too, following their successful season. Pledger takes to the helm after manager Chris Funnell and assistant Katie Davison stepped down for their roles.
