Gainsborough Trinity have added two new additions ahead of the season opener on Saturday, August 10.
The Holy Blues have welcomed former Hull City scholar Glen Sani to their squad for the upcoming term.
He spent last season at Northern Premier League Division East side Bridlington Town, making 38 appearances and seven goals along the way.
Sani said: “I like to vary my game and be involved, so I can run in behind and stretch back lines or try and get it to feet, in the pockets to try and link play and combine with teammates. I have an eye for goal as well, which is the main thing being a striker.”
The young forward has joined DN21’s impressive attacking ranks, with the hope of making his mark at a higher level.
Gainsborough Trinity boss Russ Wilcox added: “Glen has a good pedigree and a good upbringing through Hull City’s Academy. He’s still got things to learn, but he’s only 19 and we’ll keep working with him. He gives us good energy, attitude and application.
“He’s a good addition, gives us competition for places at the top end of the pitch, which is really important. And, he’s a good lad too, which is also important.”
Wilcox’s Holy Blues have sealed the return of attacker Kyle Simpson, who came through the youth ranks in North Lincolnshire.
He impressed in Gainsborough’s under-21s by scoring 37 goals in 50 appearances, and earned himself a handful of chances in the first team last season. He will now be fully integrated into the senior squad ahead of the new Northern Premier League campaign.
Simpson said: “I’m delighted with it to be honest. Last season I was with the 21s and got my call to have a game with the first team, and train with them. I put myself in a position where I have worked hard and obviously, I am absolutely over the moon to be with the side this season. It gives me a good working set up to help me develop into a better player.”
Dual Registration Deals:
Gainsborough Trinity have confirmed the additions of two fresh players on dual registration deals. Defender Jacob McLoughlin and Goalkeeper Rhys Westcarr-Toft have linked up with Club Thorne Colliery, but will also be available to play for the Holy Blues during the upcoming campaign.

Finally, it has been confirmed by Rossington Main that young defender Cody Collins has signed on a dual-registration deal with the club. He will play for the step five club, as well as for Trinity.
The new signings follow the announcement that former Love Island contestant and National League promotion winner Aaron Simpson had signed for Trinity.
