Lincoln City make the trip to the Boldmere Community Stadium in the cup, while Lincoln United host Northampton Town in league action.

City go into Sunday’s clash in the cup off the back of a 4-0 defeat away to Sutton Coldfield Town. Two goals in the first 35 minutes meant the game slipped away from the Imps, marking another defeat in the league.

Lincoln city currently sit bottom of the league and have failed to score a point so far this campaign.

Boldmere narrowly lost to high-flying Peterborough United last weekend. An early goal from Posh’s Tara Kirk put her side 1-0 up at half-time, before eventually winning the game 2-1.

Boldmere currently sit in 10th place, just one spot above the relegation zone, however they are four points clear of the two teams who are yet to record a point in the division.

The game will be FA Women’s National League Plate, after the Imps lost their determining round game last month.

Lincoln United vs Northampton Town:

Lincoln United return to league action after a tough fixture last weekend against Loughborough Lightning. The Whites fell to a 3-0 defeat with goals coming for the high-flyers coming from Jessica Collyer and Sarah Woodbyrne.

This weekend, they face Northampton Town, who have had a quiet, yet strong start to the season. The Cobblers won their cup fixture against Cambridge United and three out of four of their league games, putting them in third place at the early stages of the campaign.

Last week the Midlands outfit thrashed Notts County 7-2, in which Jade Bell registered a hat-trick.

Whites player Demi Barai believes Sunday’s encounter will be yet another “tough test” for her side.

She said: “Northampton are a well drilled team that we’ve come up against a few times when previously battling for promotion.

“We need to be robust throughout, and start strong and switched on from the first whistle.”

Both sides kick-off at 2pm on Sunday 15th September.
