Lincoln is set to embrace the festive spirit this December with the return of a popular winter attraction. The Lincoln Ice Adventure will feature 16 stunning ice sculptures displayed at key landmarks throughout the city, along with a live ice carving of Lincoln’s iconic Imp.

The event comes in the wake of the City of Lincoln Council’s decision to cancel the Lincoln Christmas Market last year due to concerns over overcrowding. In response, the city has shifted its focus to smaller festive events, with the ice trail taking centre stage this year.

Councillor Joshua Wells, Portfolio Holder for Inclusive Economic Growth at the City of Lincoln Council, expressed his excitement for the upcoming event, saying: “We’re thrilled to be welcoming Lincoln Ice Adventure, bringing the much-loved ice sculptures back for another year. Christmas is such a special time, and Lincoln’s scenic streets are the perfect setting to celebrate.”

“After the success of last year’s event, we hope to see even more people take part in this year’s refreshed version. Our goal is to make this festive season unforgettable, with significant investment in beautiful lights, sculptures, carollers, and a wider festive offering.”

The ice sculptures, sponsored by local businesses including Thor’s Tipi, Turtle Bay, the White Hart Hotel, Lincoln Castle, and Taylor Lindsey, will be displayed at prominent locations across the city on December 7th and 8th, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The event will be a highlight of Lincoln’s wider Christmas celebration, which also includes the Christmas Light Switch-On on November 28th.

In addition to the lights, there will be live performances to mark the official start of the festive season in Lincoln.
