The critically acclaimed experience is set to be in Lincoln for just one week.
Eulogy is a show like no other, a unique immersive experience inside a shipping container that has been converted to transport the audience into the dark labyrinth like a hotel for the production’s 35-minute duration.
The theatre production company Darkfield, founded in 2016, uses state-of-the-art technology which utilises 360-degree sound and voice recognition software to elevate storytelling.
Eulogy is one of six shipping container experiences that each tell their unique story, removing you from your senses and leaving you in complete darkness while the story unfolds in your mind.
Debuting at the BFI London Film Festival in 2021, Eulogy has toured multiple locations across the UK and Australia, allowing people across the world to have the chance to enjoy the experience.
Eulogy takes place inside a hotel, taking you through rooms, lobbies and corridors as you make your choices with each step you take.
Darkfield Co-Director Glen Neath said:” Eulogy is the first show that uses other technology beyond the binaural sound. We created another more interactive element using voice recognition”.
“we can get information from the audience that we can use later in the story. For example, we are able to gender everyone he, she or they, depending on their preference”.
Eulogy will be in Lincoln from Tuesday, 22 October, until Sunday, 27 October 2024, in the city centre, with prices set to be £5 for a standard ticket.
Reviews from The Times and The Stage have been nothing but positive, stating that the experience was “a technical triumph as it soothes, befuddles and shakes you from imagined place to imagined place” and” a trippy, sensory adventure”.
