Lincoln City Women host Northampton Town, while Lincoln United Women host table-toppers Peterborough United tomorrow afternoon.
The two Lincoln sides come into the game after differing Adobe Women’s FA Cup result, with The Whites undergoing a managerial change.
Lincoln City vs Northampton Town:
Lincoln City host midlands club Northampton Town a fortnight after registering their first win of the Charlotte Dinsdale era.
The Imps won 3-2 against Leicester City in the Women’s FA Cup, where it has been confirmed they would face Rugby Borough in the first-round proper of the cup.
Meanwhile in the league, City sit bottom, awaiting their first points of the season.
Northampton have been flying this season, currently sitting third in the division, having lost just one of their seven league games so far this term. A win for the Cobblers would put them level on points with Leafield Athletic, with a game in hand over the second placed outfit.
Peterborough United vs Lincoln United:
Lincoln United make the trip to league-toppers Peterborough United. The Whites lost 3-2 to Shrewsbury Town in the FA Cup, meaning their full focus will now be on the league.
However, during the week, manager Chris Funnell exited his role as manager to take the helm at Boston Town’s men’s team. The treble winning boss returned to Ashby Avenue in September, but managed just four games on his return.
It has been confirmed to The Linc that Kirsty Richardson will take interim charge of the club, while a third permanent manager of the season is sought to be appointed.
Two weeks ago, United won 3-2 thanks to late goals from Amy Copley and Alice Hayes, putting the Whites comfortably within the mix of mid-table sides.
Their opponents fell to a heavy defeat to Nottingham Forest in the Cup, losing 6-0, despite their strong league form.
Posh were trailing by two goals at half-time however, a strong second-half from Forest ended Peterborough’s hope of enjoying a successful FA cup run.
The hosts won comfortably, beating Notts County 4-3, in their last league outing. Lauren Wilshaw was the hero for Posh, scoring with just four minutes left on the clock. They will surely provide a tough test for the managerless Whites.
Both sides kick off at 2pm on Sunday 26th October.
