Lincoln Citywill be looking to bounce back, as they travel to the Racecourse Ground to take on second-placed Wrexham in a rearranged game.

The Imps were on an unbeaten run of six games before defeat to Wycombe Wanderers, but now face a Wrexham side yet to record a loss at home this season.

Opposition: Wrexham AFC

The Red Dragons approach the match on a 12-game unbeaten run at the Racecourse, stretching back to the end of the last campaign and their loss to Tranmere Rovers, in March.

Wrexham’s draw to Huddersfield Town in October is the only time in their last eight home games that they have failed to win, with 21 points collected outside of this.

The hosts also boast the best defensive record of any team in League One this season so far, conceding just 11 times in their opening 16 matches.

Team News:

Unfortunately for the Imps, wing-back Reeco Hackett, who missed out against Wycombe with a strain he picked up on international duty with Saint Lucia, is unlikely to return.

Adam Jackson is “close” and “in contention”, but might not be ready to start according to City head coach Michael Skubala,

Meanwhile, Tom Hamer remains on the sidelines.

Head-to-Head:

This is the first Football League clash between Wrexham and Lincoln since May 2008. And, the side currently managed by Phil Parkinson have won each of the four matches against the Imps.

Tuesday will be the 19th time that the two teams have played, Lincoln City winning six of those meetings and getting a point from four of them. That give the Red Dragons the advantage heading into this one, having won on eight occasions.

However, the Imps have won their last two meetings with Wrexham. They won on their last trip to STōK Cae Ras, after two first-half goals from Luke Waterfall and Harry Andersen proved enough for a 2-1 victory.

The last meeting between the two sides was in November 2016, when the Imps needed an Elliott Whitehouse goal in the fourteenth minute to secure a 1-0 victory at the LNER Stadium, despite a first half red card from Sean Raggett.

Played for Both:

The most notable name to have had a run out for both sides is Wrexham striker Ollie Palmer. He joined Lincoln City in 2017, playing 45 league games for the Imps in 2017/18, notching eight goals and one assist that season, before joining Wrexham in 2022.
