Gainsborough Trinity 2-1 Hyde United:

Manager Russ Wilcox said his Gainsborough Trinity team are driven by a philosophy and identity of winning.

Speaking to The Linc editor Jamie Johnson, after victory over Hyde United, the Holy Blues boss said: “Everybody has philosophies, supposedly, and identities, ours is winning. It’s as simple as that. We find different ways to win. We play nice football, but then last ten minutes we put it in corners and we see out the game, in my opinion it’s common sense.”

Trinity have now won four games on the spin, with Emirates FA Cup defeat to League Two Harrogate Town the only blemish in a stunning 14 game run.

Wilcox said he was “delighted” with the spirit his side showed after going 1-0 down early on in the game, providing an “outstanding” turnaround.
