Gainsborough Trinity 0-0 Ilkeston Town:

Manager Russ Wilcox has said a play-off push “looks unlikely”, but refused to rule out a late dash from his Gainsborough Trinity side.

Trinity extended their unbeaten run to six games with a goalless draw against sixth-placed Ilkeston Town, but could not meaningfully close the gap between themselves and the play-off places.

Speaking to The Linc sports editor Jamie Johnson, Wilcox said: “You’ve got to win maybe 10 out of 11, or something silly like that. I think you need probably 70 points, so is it achievable? It is on paper, the points are still there and we need to start winning games.”

The Trinity boss dissected the positives of the game, spoke about new loanee Jordan Hallam after his home debut, and offered an injury update on both Sisa Tuntulwana and Dayle Southwell.

Wilcox offered perspective on Gainsborough’s 44th game of the campaign, with still 11 remaining in a mammoth season.
