Lincoln United 3-1 Bourne Town

Lincoln United manager Scott Hellewell spoke of his delight as The Whites beat Bourne Town to retain their Lincolnshire County Trophy.

Lincoln netted twice in the opening ten minutes, adding a third before the half hour mark, to put the game beyond the reach of Bourne.

The Linc sports reporter Thomas Westcott, Hellewell said: “I am delighted, we have come here to win the game and we were a little bit depleted squad-wise, every player has stepped up tonight.”

The United boss named himself among the substitutes, alongside an injured Paul Grimes, and two development players.

In the opening 35 minutes, Bourne were blown away by Lincoln according to Hellewell, before a professional second-half display saw out the victory.

The Lincoln manager updated on Jaime Ture and Owen Vincent’s fitness, and looked ahead to the major top of the table clash with Eastwood CFC on Saturday.
