Lincoln City end the 2024/25 season, Michael Skubala’s first full term in charge, at home to already-promoted Wrexham.
The Welsh side travel to the LNER Stadium having secured their third consecutive promotion with their 3-0 win over Charlton Athletic last weekend, while the Imps will hope to taste victory to propel them into the top 10 of the League One table after 46 games.
Opposition: Wrexham
Wrexham’s rise up the divisions in recent years is well documented, as is their ownership structure.
January signing Sam Smith, brought in from play-off chasing Reading, has scored 18 goals this season in the third tier – seven of those coming at The Racecourse Ground.
Familiar names to English football fans among the Welsh side’s line-up are Matty James, Steven Fletcher, Jay Rodriguez, and James McClean.
Goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo, formerly of Arsenal, has kept the second-highest number of clean sheets in League One this term (18) – three fewer than Birmingham City’s Ryan Allsop.
Team News:
Michael Skubala has said that players unlikely to be at the LNER Stadium next season might feature, but he was not drawn on naming individuals.

If Sean Roughan is in the starting lineup and plays the full game, he will have played every minute of every game in the league and FA Cup this season. His manager described him as one of the best left backs in the league, as he becomes the centre of transfer window attention.
Head-to-Head:
Wrexham are unbeaten in the last six meetings between these two sides, winning all of the last five.
Before this campaign, the Imps and the Red Dragons last faced off against one another in May 2008 – Wrexham winning 4-2 at Sincil Bank.
Earlier this season, Wrexham beat Lincoln City 1-0 in north Wales through a Tendayi Darikwa own-goal.
Played for Both: James Jones
Jones joined the Imps during the COVID-19 period in July 2020 on a free transfer, after his contract at Crewe Alexandra expired.
Imps fans never had the chance to see Jones in action, as he departed a year later for Wrexham – scoring his single Lincoln City goal in the Carabao Cup against Bradford City.
He went on to play a crucial role in Wrexham’s back-to-back promotions from the National League to League One.
Jones, who departed Wrexham in January for Burton Albion, played six times this season for the Welsh side.
