The Linc is pleased to announce a new sports editorial team ahead of the summer and 2025/26 season.
As it is the end of the current academic year, editor Jamie Johnson and deputy editor Spencer O’Leary will be leaving the website and the University of Lincoln, with Ella Bebbington and Declan Dempsey taking over as co-editors.
It follows a season of varying success for the teams that The Linc covers. Lincoln City further solidified their standing in Sky Bet League One with a top-half finish, as Lincoln United secured promotion back into step four alongside Lincolnshire County Trophy glory.
Elsewhere, Gainsborough Trinity enjoyed long runs in the FA Cup and FA Trophy and Lincoln United Women remained in the FA Women’s National League in their debut campaign, while rivals City were relegated.
Finally, Lindum Hockey were unable to remain in the second-tier of the English pyramid, despite a strong showing in a season that was a first at the level for any team within Lincolnshire.
As the departing editor, I would like to thank every student who has written for the website over the course of my two years in the role, as well as all the readers who have been with us throughout. I wish Ella and Declan the best of luck!
