Lincoln City’s SkyBet League One fixture list has been announced in full as Michael Skubala approaches his third season in charge of the team, looking to improve on the side’s 11th place finish last term.
First Five
The Imps kick start their campaign at the LNER Stadium as they play Reading on Saturday 2 August, they welcome back former captain Paudie O’Connor who joined the Royals from Lincoln this summer.
Lincoln will then face two newcomers to the league as they travel to recently promoted AFC Wimbledon on Saturday 9 August then on Saturday 16 August, host Plymouth Argyle, who were just relegated from the Championship.
Skubala’s side will remain in Lincoln for their fourth game of the season, hosting Northampton Town on Tuesday 19 August, a team the Imps achieved a domestic double over last season.
A visit to the Toughsheet Community Stadium to play Bolton Wanderers completes Lincoln’s first five games of the season, Steven Schumacher’s side finished 8th last term, ultimately missing out on the play-off places by ten points.

Festive Fixtures
Lincoln City have five fixtures in the winter holidays taking place between 20 December and 4 January in what looks to be a challenging spell for the Imps.
They begin this period with two tough clashes, starting on Saturday 20 December with recently relegated Cardiff City at home, before making the trip to Edgeley Park to play Dave Challinor’s Stockport County on boxing day.
Next up is a trip to South Yorkshire to play Barnsley at the Oakwell Stadium then the Imps begin 2026 by hosting Huddersfield Town on new year’s day – a fixture they won last season.
Lincoln’s festive period concludes with a home match against Peterborough United, a team they thrashed 5-1 last season at the LNER Stadium with Dom Jeffries, Tom Bayliss, Freddie Draper and James Collins all bagging goals against the Posh.

Concluding the Campaign
In the 2024/25 season the Imps took seven points from their last five games, helping them to achieve a top half finish for the third consecutive season.
The Imps will conclude next season with games against Reading, Leyton Orient and Stevenage, their final two games will be clashes against Wycombe Wanderers and Port Vale.
Wycombe will be Lincoln’s final home game of the season and will prove a difficult test for the Imps with the Chairboys finishing fifth and taking six points from Skubala’s men last season.
The Imps last opponent of the 2025/26 campaign will be newly promoted Port Vale on Saturday 2 May.

Other Competitions
Lincoln City also discovered that they will face Harrogate Town in the first round of the Carabao Cup, the Imps will travel to the Exercise Stadium in the week commencing Monday 11 August.
The tie is a repeat of last season’s first round fixture, in which Harrogate visited the LNER Stadium and won 2-1.
In the Vertu Trophy, Lincoln were put into Northern Group D with Barnsley, Notts County and Manchester United Under 21s.
