Lincoln United spent the month of July finalising preparations for their return to step four as they announced a further four signings amongst a handful of pre-season friendlies.
The Whites begin their Northern Premier League season next weekend when they travel to Heaton Stannington but first face step five side Northampton O.N. Chennecks in the FA Cup on Saturday.
Going into that game Scott Hellewell’s side will be bolstered by Harvey Cribb, Lewis Smalley, Charlie Carlisle and Lewis Smith who all joined the club throughout July.
The first of which to arrive was young forward Lewis Smith who rejoins the club after coming through the side’s development programme.
Smith then spent time with step five and fellow Lincolnshire sides Bottesford Town and Louth Town with the later being on a dual registration.
The next through the door were two young centre-backs Charlie Carlisle and Lewis Smalley who joined on July 15 and 18 respectively.
Carlisle joined the side from cross-city side Lincoln City on a season long work experience loan having worked his way through the club’s youth ranks after joining at under 10’s.
He made an instant impact at the Sun-Hat Villas and Resorts Stadium when he scored on his debut against a Sheffield Wednesday XI.
Although the defender has since featured for the young Imps when they faced Gainsborough Trinity in a pre-season friendly.
Smalley on the other hand, originally joined the Whites as a trialist and after impressing through pre-season, has now signed on a permanent basis.
The 19-year-old joined Sleaford Town at the start of the 2024/25 season from the Harrogate Town academy and went on to make four appearances before the start of October.
Most recently joining the side was another trialist in Harvey Cribb who won Man of the Match in the sides first competitive game of the season against Stamford AFC in the County Cup.
Cribb became Scunthorpe United’s youngest ever player when he made his debut at the age of 16 years and 36 days.
He then went onto make a further seven appearances for the then Football League side before joining Grimsby Town.
The midfielder has most recently spent time on loan at Winterton Rangers, Bridlington Town and Grimsby Borough throughout last season.
This month brings The Whites total number of additions up to nine for the new season in which they hope to solidify their Northern Premier League status.
