Lincoln City return to the LNER Stadium as they host Plymouth Argyle after securing a convincing 3-1 win over Harrogate Town in the Carabao Cup mid-week.

The Imps lock horns with a Plymouth side who are yet to pick up a point in the new SkyBet League One campaign, the Pilgrims have unfortunately carried over their poor form from last season which saw them finish 23rd in the Championship.
Former Watford head coach Tom Cleverley took charge of Plymouth this summer after Miron Muslic left the club to join Schalke.
The former Manchester United midfielder will be desperate to get his first points on the board as head coach of the Pilgrims after being hit with back-to-back losses to Barnsley and Bolton Wanderers.
Cleverley’s men will approach the clash against Lincoln with some confidence as they came from two goals behind to beat championship side QPR 3-2 in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday night.

Lincoln City head coach Michael Skubala has confirmed that Ben House is back on the grass and is wearing a mask to protect his broken nose.
Reeco Hackett has returned to training and completed the full session despite a slight back injury.
Jack Moylan is set for a scan in a few days to judge the extent of the injury he picked up against Harrogate with Skubala describing the injury as “quite nasty”.
Skubala also stated the club are “working overtime” and are “close on a couple of things” in terms on incomings this transfer window, he highlighted a midfielder, a wide player and left back as being the positions that need addressing.

Lincoln City and Plymouth aren’t separated by much when it comes to past encounters, the two sides have met on exactly 50 occasions since 1914 with the Imps winning 19, the Pilgrims winning 16 and the clubs drawing 15 times.
The two teams most recently clashed in the 2022/23 League One season, drawing 1-1 at the LNER Stadium and the Imps beating the Pilgrims 2-0 in the South West with loanee Brennan Johnson scoring one and assisting the other.
The Imps are unbeaten in the last four games between the sides.

Defender Saxon Earley spent the first half of last season on loan with Skubala’s men from Plymouth Argyle, playing twice for Lincoln in the EFL Trophy and the First Round of the FA Cup, however the 22-year-old never made an appearance in the league.
Other notable players who have featured for both sides include Luke Daley, Adrian Littlejohn and Guy Branston.
Lincoln city seem to me playing very eye catching performances in the 1st three matches of the season I’ll be at the Plymouth home game hopefully keeping up the great way they are playing at the moment at 72 don’t get to many games a season but I hope they can win but football is a hit and miss as Collins is starved of supply from wings but I’m sure he can open account today.
