Michael Skubala’s Lincoln City put on a brilliant display to beat recently relegated Plymouth Argyle 3-2 at the LNER Stadium yesterday.
Earlier in the week, Skubala asked for his side to “bring it” to the opposition and the Imps did exactly that, as goals from Tom Bayliss and a James Collins brace were enough to secure the three points.
Speaking after the game, Skubala was complimentary of the southern outfit when he said: “Plymouth were very dynamic with the ball.
“They have some brilliant individuals that have dropped down from the Championship and have patterns of play that can hurt you, but we nullified all of their threats and caused them some real problems.”

Freddie Draper made his first league start of the season yesterday whilst operating as a number 10, as opposed to his usual striker position.
When asked about Draper’s new role and whether this was a permanent one, Skubala said: “It could be, it gives us another dynamic within the team. At times today he was a number nine and at times he was a number 10, but I think he looks after the ball well.
“He’s physical, he can bring the ball down and he can run up the pitch, but it depends on the opposition we play.”- Michael Skubala
Ben House returned to action as a late substitute in yesterday’s league game after suffering an injury mid-way through a pre-season friendly with West Brom.
Skubala signalled that the midfielder is ready for first team action when he said: “He’s got a mask that he has to wear for a bit of time but he’s ready to go.”
Skubala’s side travel to Northampton Town on Tuesday and looking ahead to that one, Skubala said, “It is going to be a tough place to go.
“We all know how hard it is to go there, and we have to be as good if not even better then we were today.”
