Lincoln City beat former championship opposition Plymouth Argyle 3-2 yesterday, keeping their undefeated record at home in-tact
Imps’ midfielder Tom Bayliss promptly got his name onto the scoresheet as he scored his first goal of the season in the sixth minute of the match.
After the game, Bayliss reflected on his goal, he said: “It is nice to get off the mark quite early into the season.
“I am playing a little bit deeper this year, but I still want to have goals and assists in my game, so hopefully it can be the first of many.”

Bayliss was complementary when asked about the team’s performance as a whole, the 26-year-old midfielder said: “Today you saw, especially in the first 75 minutes, a really well-oiled machine.
“It’s just getting the minutes in the legs and getting right up to speed with match sharpness and that is what you have seen today.”
During the match, Plymouth struggled at times with keeping the ball, the goal-scorer also commented on Plymouth’s style of play in comparison to Lincoln’s, “They’re a team who want to pass around the ball and we are a team that want to press, so it fell into our laps.
“I think that the gameplan was perfect and worked really well.”
The Imps will be hoping that Bayliss will be able to build on this momentum as they face Northampton Town away from home on Tuesday.
