Michael Skubala’s Lincoln City managed to fend off recent Premier League outfit Luton Town yesterday, with the Imps winning 3-1 ahead of their mammoth Carabao Cup clash with Chelsea.
Ben House and Justin Obikwu were on the scoresheet for Skubala’s side, putting them top of the Sky Bet League One standings for a short period of time on Saturday.
Skubala praised his team’s performance after a victory against Luton: “It was a solid performance, really solid performance.
“We did deserve to win the game; we had the much better chances in the game. We moved the ball well in the first 20-25 minutes. We were electric and stuck to the tactical plan very well.
“We would have been disappointed if it ended on a draw, so we are really really pleased.”
Ben House bagged two goals in the game, adding onto his tally to make it four goals already this season for the midfielder. Skubala was complimentary of House saying: “He’s an unbelievable player for us.
“Everything Ben does without the ball everyone sees, but today you have seen his quality with his two goals. He’s grabbed the shirt and he has looked good.”
With Obikwu recently coming into the fold, Skubala was delighted with the young man’s performance: “Very pleased with him, he’s a big threat from in-behind, that’s why we have bought him in and you have seen how good his finish was for his goal.”
Looking forward, Skubala’s men will face Chelsea in the EFL Carabao Cup. A massive game for the Imps.
